Influence of Pilot-Fueling and Nozzle-Opening Pressure on Performance and Tailpipe Emissions of WCO Biodiesel in a CRDi Engine

Pilot-fueling and nozzle-injection pressure are significant injection parameters, they have impacts on modern vehicles for enhancing the engine output, in addition to meeting rigorous tailpipe-exhaust emission standards. In this current work, influence of pilot-fueling nozzle-opening (NOP) performance tailpipe outcomes from a compression-ignition (CI) at higher varying load conditions was investigated using waste cooking oil (WCO) biodiesel (B20). The experiments were executed high-pressure CRDi-fitted diesel start pilot fueling (SOPF) (timing: 23° bTDC), main (SOMF) 33° bTDC). results showed that combined induced remarkable enhancement BTE, by 25.13%, BSFC decreased 13.88%, compared with 10% fueling. Carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon, smoke emissions drastically reduced quantity 21.05%, 16.66%, 33.10%, respectively, With implementation strategy, there is no effect NOx reduction.
